ELLIPTICA
Elliptica is a fabulous pair of socks featuring a pattern of aquatic plants. It is knit using short-rows and it has a rather unsual construction for socks: The “body” of the socks is knit flat and sideways, leaving an opening for an afterthought heel. The toes are knit using the same technique as for the afterthought heel. This makes it a very easy ­project if you’re not used to knitting socks, or if you want to spice your sock knitting up a little bit!

SIZE
Large: Size 40-43 in gauge 1
Small: Size 37-40 in gauge 2

GAUGE
Gauge 1: 24 sts x 48 rows = 10 x 10 cm in ­garter stitch on 3 mm/US2.5/UK11 needles.
Gauge 2: 28 sts x 56 rows = 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch on 2.5 mm/US1.5/UK13.5 needles.
