This pattern is written “measure yourself” style- meaning it can be scaled to any size you’d like using your measurements, with any yarn of your choosing. This pattern does NOT contain specific stitch counts, sizes, yardage, or gauges!

This stunning vest features an all-in-one construction method, which gives it the double bonus of being completely reversible! Crochet this vest with lots of added ease for a relaxed, oversized vest, or opt for a tighter fit if you prefer the look of tank tops instead.

This pattern can be made with any yarn weight. DK or finer weight yarns will create a lightweight vest that can double as a tank top, while thicker yarns are great for a cozy, chunky look.

Ellison is constructed sideways, all in one piece. No seaming is required for this project.

The right armhole shaping is created first, followed by an extension and shaping to make the shoulder. After the neckline is complete, the left shoulder and armhole are worked. The back is then constructed directly from the front panel in almost an identical fashion, with each back shoulder row being worked using a join-as-you-go technique to attach it to the front shoulders. The back and front are joined together using a join-as-you-go row to complete the main body.

The body is finished off with join-as-you-go ribbing along the bottom hem, then the yarn is reattached to create the ribbing along the neckline with the same technique.
