The Elmer Patchwork Cardie, is the perfect garment to start learning to knit. As you work your way through the Learn Lesson Swatches, you can decide how complex or simple you want the stitch patterns to look. Once you have knitted enough, this pattern will show you how to turn them into an awesome cardigan inspired by the patchwork elephant, becoming just as cheerful and iconic as Elmer, in your one-of-a-kind knitted piece.

Each component is comprised of Learn Lesson Swatches. Assemble these and sew them together to form the garment shape, then pick up stitches to add a hem and cuffs. Complete the cardigan with a tapering button band.

Recommended Patterns:
Why not try out some more construction techniques, the Olaf Jumper is knit top down whereas the Diamante Jumper is knit from the bottom up. Which method do you prefer?
