Elora Lace Up
This is a versatile summer top that can be very cool and comfortable in hot weather, when worked in a linen, cotton, or silk. The sweater is fitted without being clingy - which is also a comfort on sticky days. With the scooped neck, empire waistline, and corset-like laced-up bodice, there are several feminine details which make this sweater flattering.
As an added embellishment, there are optional instructions for machine sewing contrasting fabric as lining on the front opening edges and on the side plackets at the bottom. In the pattern photos, this lining is in place.
The sweater is knit bottom up, in pieces, then seamed at the sides and shoulders. The cap sleeves and the neck ribbing are picked up and knit afterwards. The font edges and plackets are then lined with fabric (optional) before lacing up the front of the bodice with 3/8” ribbon and a darning needle. Detailed photographic instructions are supplied for the lining and the lacing.
Optional length allowances are included in several places to allow for shrinkage, for anyone who wants to machine wash/dry their garment.
