This is a fun pattern. I enjoyed adding the crown to the basic hat pattern. By doing this, the hat will not be as heavy as if I added it on top of the basic hat.

I used a sc to make my hat. I wanted it warm for the winter months AND I wanted a sharp points on my crown. Using sc will allow this to happen.

I also wanted the braid to have a little dimension coming out of the hat so it looked more like hair coming out from the head instead of the hat. I am happy with the way the braid comes out from the edge.

For a hat larger than 24 months, you might want to add more yarn strips that I did. This will make a fuller braid.
