Elsie Throw (Mosaic Overlay)
My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was eight years old and I made a huge blanket from just one granny square. I would go home and finish a side and take it back to her every weekend and she would do the corners for me, until she taught me how to do them myself.
I have been crocheting now for over 50 years, but fell in love with mosaic crochet just a few years ago, and have always wanted to create my own pattern.
I knew right away the name for it, Elsie, in honour of my grandmother. She had 2 boys (my dad, who has passed away) and his older brother, John (aged 92). I am sending the finished blanket to him in England (a little memory of his mother).
Yarn
- Pound of Love in White, 1700 yards
