ELUPUU - Tree of Life; Estonian
Elupuu is a quick to knit fitted beanie knitted in the round featuring a braided cast-on and a geometric woven inlay motif.
The modern geometric motif is a reimagined interpretation of traditional Estonian symbols for the tree of life where this pattern gets its name from. The modern tree of life motif appears to be lovingly embroidered, while it was in fact created during the knitting process using a unique Estonian knitting technique called Roosimine from south west Estonia. It is the perfect introduction project to this simply and unique technique.
PATTERN NOTES
This hat is knit in the round from the bottom up beginning with a two colour twisted cast on followed by a 1x1 rib brim and Roosimine inlay motif.
The yarn for the Roosimine inlay is held double to create a dense motif.
