Men’s sock pattern with a finished measurement of
7 (8¼, 9½) in / 18 (21, 24) cm foot circumference and 10
(11, 11½) in / 25.5 (28, 29) cm long from back of heel to tip of toe. Socks shown measure 8¼ in / 21 cm.
* Gauge
34 sts and 40 rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in mosaic pattern.
* Skill level
Knit, purl, working in the round and flat, short-row heel, simple increases and decreases, and finishing.
* Yarn
Spud & Chloë Fine (80% wool, 20% silk; 248 yds / 227 m
/ 65 g) #7814 shitake (light brown; MC) and #7818 green
bean (CC), 1 skein each.
* Needles and Notions
2.75 mm (US2) set of 5 double-pointed needles. Adjust
needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Markers and tapestry needle.
The sock is worked using a mosaic colourwork pattern, where each round is worked using one strand of yarn only. The pattern is achieved by slipping the stitches of the previous round without knitting them. They are worked from the cuff down, featuring a short row heel.
