Description

The Elva Sweater is a long, loose-fitting sweater with sophisticated saddle shoulders. The shoulders are knit in a rib pattern that starts at the collar, runs down the shoulder and all the way down the sleeve into the cuff. The yoke is shaped with German short rows for a good fit, and the neckline is shaped with increases alongside the short rows. The sweater is worked top down, so the length is fully adjustable. The design features a turtleneck, which is also knitted in ribbing, giving the sweater a wintery, cozy look. The sleeves are designed with a little extra length to complete the casual, modern look of the sweater.

Begin by making a gauge swatch to check that you have the correct gauge.

Materials:

450 (450) 500 (550) 600 (650) 700 g

“Woolia” from Gepard (50g = 132m)

together with

125 (125) 150 (175) 200 (225) 250 g

“Kid Seta” from Gepard (25g = 210m)

The sweater is knitted using one strand of the thicker yarn and one strand of the silk mohair together.
Note that you will need more yarn if you want to knit a longer sweater.

Yarn alternatives:

For anyone who is more sensitive to pure wool, we wanted to give a softer merino option - Schulana’s mohair is also one of the softest we’ve used:

650 (650) 800 (800) 900 (950) 1050 g

“Sumerino” by Schulana (50g = ca. 85m)

held together with

125 (125) 150 (175) 200 (225) 250 g

“Kid-Seta” by Schulana (25g = ca. 210m)

Also, we want everyone to be able to knit our patterns, which is why we also want to give a cheaper alternative:

500 (500) 600 (650) 750 (800) 900 g

“Karisma” by Drops (50g = ca. 100m)

held together with

125 (125) 150 (175) 200 (225) 250 g

“Kid Silk” by Drops (25g = ca. 210m)

Also possible are:
