Elysian Shawl
This pattern includes all 4 versions.
I started this design on our visit to Seattle to visit our youngest son and explore the Pacific Northwest. I fell in love with so many things--the tall trees, the ocean, the Asian food and the Elysian Brewery!
This is an easy pattern to knit while you are doing other things, talking with your knitting friends, watching a great tv show, or sipping pumpkin beer!
The reason for 4 variations is to accommodate whatever amount of yarn you have or want to use. The Immortal just uses one colorway. Space Dust uses two. Night Owl and Dark O’ the Moon uses 5 colors--a gradient set or knitter’s choice. The difference is Night Owl used the same amount of each color. Dark O’ the Moon used amounts I chose. You truly can use as many colors and amounts that you like. Of course, if you want a larger shawl, just keep knitting! Some projects and some beers are just too good to put down too soon!
The two color version was inspired by needing more yarn than in my one skein. I chose a similar color and added chunks of it. But, you can add as much contrast as you prefer.
The 5-color version was knit with a beautiful gradient set. It could also be fun with partial skeins in your stash. The size of color stripes can be adjusted to the amounts of your yarns. And, you can add additional colors if you like, or if you want a larger shawl.
The pattern was test knit and tech edited. It contains 4 separate design plans and provides the number of garter ridges of each color.
