Elysian Vest
Welcome to the Elysian Vest
“Elysian” is a greek word meaning “divinely inspired, peaceful and creative”
She´s a made-to-measure design to choose any yarn and hook size that fits your personality and liking. The structure is very clean and simple, a real wardrobe staple featuring a double folded mock neck collar or low sitting collar.
You´ll find a lot of possibilities to adjust the pattern to make it really -yours-.
Due to your chosen material you can make a summer version or work it with some cozy warm yarn to have a perfect autumn/winter staple.
ꕺ Use any yarn you wish, due to the “made-to- measure” principle you´re free to choose.
Depending on your seasonal choice use:
-Linen, silk, cotton, bamboo in summer
-Alpaca, wool, merino, mohair in winter
ꕺ Yardage will depend on your chosen material, I used medium weight “Upcycled Alpaca Yarn” from Hobbii
- 370gr / 650m / size M
Testers needed between 60 - 1400g yarn for bustcircumferences 78cm - 108cm
Take a look in the tester gallery to get inspired and see the materials and yardage they used.
ꕺ 5. mm + 4.5mm hook / any hook to match yarn
ꕺ Scissors
ꕺ Tapestry needle
ꕺ Stitch markers or safety pins
ꕺ Measuring tape
The pattern uses the “yarn over slip stitch in backloop only” and “slipstitches in backloop only” for the collar.
Besides this, the shape of the panels are created with short rows - you´ll find several photos and videos during the pattern to help you working those.
All in all is the pattern an intermediate skill level pattern.
If you´ve never worked a made-to-measure pattern before, I want you to know that the creative freedom you have with this way of pattern comes along with a few math calculations, but no worries, I´ll guide you through these. :)
Take a look at the pictures to see different versions of the “Elysian Vest” and get inspired for your very own Elysian!
