Elytra are the colorful hardened coverings over the wings of many different beetles. Their oftentimes domed and iridescent shapes are the inspiration for the pattern of this springy lace tunic.

The Elytra Tunic is a modified drop shoulder tunic, knit bottom up, beginning with a split hem. Front and back hems are created separately and then joined together to begin the body. The lace pattern is an easy 6-stitch wide, 12-row repeat which is used on the body and sleeves. An extra long 3x3 ribbed cuff finishes the sleeves.
