Embers Hat is a lovely, slouchy hat knit seamlessly, bottom up. It is worked in heavy DK weight yarn. The body of the hat is knit in a beautiful Lace and Cable Pattern that gives it an interesting look. It is a perfect head accessory on a chilly day.

The yarn for this design was kindly provided by Ivy Fiber Co.

Size: one size, to fit 54-56 cm (21-22”) head circumference;
Yarn: Ivy Fiber Co. Meadow DK 6 ply heavy DK, 100% French merino d’Arles and Portuguese merino wool blend, 200 meters (219 yards)/ 100g (3.53 oz); 1 skein; sample hats are shown in Fox and Stone colorways;
Or: approx. 200 meters/ 219 yards of heavy DK/ worsted weight yarn;
Gauge: 18 sts and 27 rounds = 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch in the round on 4.5 mm/ US7 needles, blocked; one repeat of Lace and Cable Pattern is 8.5 cm/ 3” wide and 14 cm/ 5.5” tall, blocked;
Needles: 3.5 mm/ US4 40 cm (16”) circular needles for the Brim and 4.5 mm/ US7 40 cm (16”) circular needles for the Body and set of 4.5 mm/ US7 double-pointed needles or 4.5 mm/ US7 at least 80 cm (32”) circular needles to work the crown;
Other: one stitch marker, tapestry needle to weave in loose ends, cable needle (optional);
Measurements: approx. 25 cm/ 10” long, blocked and measured from bottom to top.
