Embla Top
The Embla Top is short sleeved and feminine, featuring a delicate pattern on the yoke, and body and sleeve edges. A perfect spring project as it can be worn on its own during summer but also looks nice worn under a jacket or sweater all year round. The design is classic and the top can be dressed up or down, so if you choose to knit it up in durable linen it could last and bring you joy for years to come.
The top-down construction facilitates easy adjustments regarding length for both body and sleeves and the finishing touches will take minimal time.
Sizes: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 - 7 - 8. The garment body circumference is 78 - 86 - 93 - 99 - 107 - 114 - 120 - 128 cm 30 ¾ - 33 ¾ - 36 ½ - 39 - 42 ¼ - 45 - 47 ¼ - 50 ½ in. As adjustments regarding body and sleeve length are easily made, we recommend working up a size according to your widest body circumference plus chosen positive ease. The top is designed with an intended positive ease of 3 - 7 cm 1 ¼ - 2 ¾ in.
Gauge: 21 sts in stockinette = 10 cm 4 in.
Needles: Circular Nds in different lengths, size to obtain the right gauge. Recommended size: 3½ to 4 mm US size 4 to 6. One long circular Nd is sufficient, if you use the magic loop technique.
Yarn: Any yarn that suits the given gauge. The top featured is knitted up with 100% linen yarn, Lövetand from CaMaRose (50 g = 140 m/153 yd), color 430 Silver grey. You will need approximately 200-250 / 250 / 250 / 250-300 / 300 / 300-350 / 350 / 350 g.
Difficulty level: 2-3 out of 5. The pattern requires basic knowledge of knitting techniques: Cast on, knit and purl, increases (YO, M1R and M1L) and decreases (k2tog, ssk). Other techniques used include decreasing 3 to 1 and increasing 1 to 3. Both written instructions and charts for the yoke pattern are given. The yoke is formed using short rows. Tips and explanations are incorporated in the pattern description, as well as charts, abbreviations and other useful information.
