Embossed Diamonds Shawl
This an asymmetric shawl with alternating lace and garter stitch panels designed to showcase the beauty of a gradient set of mini-skeins against a single skein of a con-trasting color. The diamond pattern in the garter stitch sections flows out of the lace pattern and is created with traveling slipped stitches.
Yarn
Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply (100% Superwash Merino; 400 yards/365 meters/4 ounc-es/115 grams), 1 skein, shown in Slate as Main Color and 1 Gradient Set (Six 133 yards/121 meters/1.33 ounce/38 gram skeins) in Willow as Contrasting Colors. Or 365 yards/334 meters Main Color and 122 yards/112 meters in each of six Contrasting Colors of fingering weight yarn.

About 96” wingspan and 18” deep.
Needles
US 5 3.75 mm circular needle, 32”/60 cm.
Gauge
21 Stitches and 52 Rows = 4”/10 cm square in garter stitch, blocked, and 20 Stitches and 30 Rows = 4”/10 cm square in Lace Chart A, blocked. Please check your gauge as it will affect the overall yardage required.

Errata:

Page 2, Section 1, Row 2 should read:
“Row 2 (Wrong Side): K2, yo, k2 1 stitch increased. 5 stitches.”
page 7, Chart B, Row 7: The symbol near the end of the row that covers 2 sts (looks like a rectangle with an X through it) should be the 1/1 LC Dec symbol.
Page 8: The chart title should be “Garter Chart D”
Page 8, Chart D, Row 18: The 2nd to the last stitch of the row (right side of chart) should be a knit stitch (p on RS, k on WS) not k3 tog.
