Knit in the round from the center out, this design highlights a smaller motif square suited for worsted to aran weight yarns. Its solid stockinette leaves sit atop a plush garter stitch background. In contrast to the lighter traditional lace versions, the Embossed Leaf Motif has a more rustic botanical look, perfect for a frequently used blanket.

The gauge is not too important unless you are contributing to a group project/gift as I was. We decided to make 6” squares of our own choice in the Peace Fleece yarn on size #8 needles for a consistent result.

Peace Fleece has just the colorful tweedy look for a sturdy lap blanket, with warmth and softness. One skein will make 5 motif squares.
Also included in the pattern are the yarn requirements for a pillow and several sizes of small blankets or afghans.
