This pattern was designed and knitted during a period of lockdown here in the UK (due to the Covid-19 pandemic) - the last year or so has certainly brought constant changes to adapt to, and the challenge of learning to embrace those changes, to see and appreciate the abundant blessings that we do have in each day.
This elegant scarf features a ‘toothed’ edge and also brings its own changes throughout the design, using 7 different stitch patterns to form beautiful textured segments. It is an interesting and enjoyable (but not too complicated!) knit, using just knit and purl stitches, slipped stitches and eyelets to create the different textures. This pattern would be suitable for a knitter with some previous experience.
It is a perfect lightweight scarf for wrapping up on cooler spring or autumn days, in changeable weather!
This scarf would look gorgeous knitted in a solid colourway to show off the different stitch patterns, but also works beautifully with speckled hand-dyed yarn – the variety of textures and gradually increasing stitch-count throughout the scarf help to prevent pooling of colours. As a single skein project, it‘s perfect for using that special skein of yarn from your stash.
