These baby socks are embellished with traditional Carelian embroidery from the eastern parts of Finland.

Carelian Embroidery fuses together the traditional imagery of the Carelia Region in the eastern parts of Finland and the sophisticated reversible two-sided line-stitching technique. Carelian Embroidery has its own distinct patterns and motifs that have their roots in the surrounding wilderness.

This knitting pattern has written instructions for the socks and detailed pictorial sewing instructions for the embroidery.
