"At the end of the road of yellow brick, was a big marble gate, all studded with giant sparkling emeralds that glittered in the sun so brightly, that even the painted eyes of the Scarecrow were dazzled by the brilliancy." - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900)
The Emerald City beanie is worked in the round, the cabled ‘arches’ become smaller as they get closer to the crown. The number of arches changes depending on the size made. Worked in a DK weight, these beanies are a quick knit!

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a much loved story of my childhood and I loved the idea of a knitted collection. Australia is also known as Oz, and being an Aussie myself I love the idea of collaborating with Aussie indie dyers.
