This Vintage Victorian Shawl is a lovely and feminine wrap typical of the Victorian Era that is very easy to make. It uses a very simple Treble C2C stitch to create a square, which is later folded in half to create a V shaped triangular shawl. A simple shell stitch edging is then added to this shawl.

This crochet project is directly inspired by a Victorian shawl present in a library museum in England. This is a great project for beginners.

This pattern is written in US terms (British terms in brackets).

Size of finished square (the square is folded in half to create triangle shawl): 36,5” (92 cm) x 36,5” (92 cm)

For this project you will need:

3 skeins of Papatya Angora yarn, or 3 skeins of Alize Angora yarn (or your preferred yarn in either a light 2 fingering yarn or light 3/DK weight yarn of your preference)
A 4 mm crochet hook
Pair of scissors
A tapestry needle

This pattern is 6 pages long, and features lots of step by step explanations and the link to a full video tutorial.

This easy project can be crocheted in the space of a week-end, and makes a perfect present.
