Emil la chouette célèbre son «Einschulung» (premier jour d’école). À cette occasion, il a reçu une «Schultüte» (pochette surprise). Cette coutume allemande remonte au 19e siècle. À cette époque, les pochettes étaient remplies de fruits et de bonbons. Ce cadeau devait, littéralement, adoucir le premier «voyage à l’école».
