Emily's Blanket
New baby? NOTHING better!
Knit a mitered web of gorgeous coziness!
For the newborn to love and eventually drag to kindergarten!
This pattern is completely adaptable to any weight yarn. Knit your first square and then figure out total yardage from there. Sample is shown with Mrs Crosby Carpet Bag yarn…a superwash for messy babies! 2 skeins of African Grey (center sst panel) and 1 skein of Wild Huckleberry (mitered squares).
There are no seams to sew. The blanket is knit from the bottom to the top, connecting squares and center stockinette panel as you go.
Expand for a lap blanket or make a smaller car seat cover-up.
The pattern directs for a 24” x 36” size, but very easy to make smaller or larger…just adapt yardage as necessary. Technique is fun and easy. Even though the squares are knit independently, and attached as you go, each square only takes approximately a half hour and easy to do when you have short segments of time to knit.
For a special new baby in your life!
