Suitable for beginner knitters wanting to try a bit of not too complicated lacework, and definitely a great knit for a lefty according to my one lefty knitter!! :smiley:

This shawl was designed to take advantage of all those fabulous variegated yarns out there. I found I just don’t want to make all the socks, and knew some of these would look fabulous in a shawlette.

Too many patterns out there get lost in the variegated yarns, and I knew I needed to find something to showcase the yarn, while at the same time add some fun lacey bits!

This is definitely a shawlette, measuring in, on average, 42-46” wide, x 30-34” deep.

I like to wear my shawls and shawlettes bandanna style, but found sometimes I had gaping or needed to craftily tuck in the top edge to keep out the wind. The icord top edge snugs up nicely around my neck without gaping, and the rest of the shawl drapes beautifully around my shoulders!

The pattern is intuitive-once you ‘get it’, it works well for car knitting, sports practice, airplane knitting, etc!
