There are many hooded cowl patterns in the crochet world and they are all very pretty. However, a special dad asked me for something different, a cowl with a detachable hood, so that his child can use just the cowl if she wants to. Her name is Emma (like my grandmother) and I gave her beautiful name to the pattern, which can be easily made in any size and with different kinds of yarn. I never use gauge, but this pattern asks for it!

Skill Level: Intermediate.
