This beanie is inspired by a collaboration project color chart created in fall 2022 by one of my English Language Arts students – Emma. The construction of this beanie is knitted in the round as follows:
The outer brim (colorwork) is knitted first with a provisional cast on using size 7 needles. The stitches from the provisional cast on are picked up to knit the inside brim using size 6 needles. Both ends are then folded together and joined together, while the rest of the beanie is knit with size 7 needles in a third color. The knitter can choose to make the beanie fit to size, as designed, or form a slouchy beanie.
