Meet the Emma Sweater, a basic (modified) drop shoulder sweater - a staple piece for your wardrobe. Emma is worn with lots of positive ease (but graded with care for all sizes) making it very comfortable to wear.
The backside is worked first and shaped with German Short Rows at the beginning. Then stitches are picked up at the shoulders to work the frontsides individually. After shaping the neckline, the frontsides are joined and finished. Then, front and backside are joined to finish working the body of the sweater in the round, which is finished off with half-twisted rib. Along the armhole opening, stitches are picked up for the sleeves which are shaped with decreases and also finished off with half-twisted rib. Lastly, stitches are picked up along the neckline for the double-folded collar, which is also worked in half-twisted rib.
The colorwork version features a prominent colorwork detail at the end of the body and sleeves and contrasting details at the rib edges and collar.
