The Emmalin hat was inspired by my northern heritage and the traditional knitting patterns I grew up with as a child. The old motifs are updated to the modern day with beautiful hand-dyed yarns in contemporary colorways. For the best result choose two colors with high contrast (ie. One very light, one very dark). The pattern uses very little of the contrast color so you can easily use a mini skein or leftovers.

Gauge
34 sts and 34 rounds = 10 cm / 4” of colorwork on larger needles in the round, blocked.

Needles
2.75 mm / US 2 circular needles with a 40 cm / 16” cable for the ribbing
3.25 mm / US 3 circular needles with a 40 cm / 16” cable for the main part
3.25 mm / US 3 double pointed needles or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting for the crown shaping
