You can adjust the size by measuring the person’s calf (where the bottom of the warmer will sit) and right under the knee (where the top of the warmer will sit). This size fits 6.5 bottom and 8.5 top.

The heart instructions will stay the same regardless of size and make sure you have an uneven number of stitches so the heart will be in the center. When you increase, you can adjust that to fit the right size by seeing which stitches are folded when the warmers are flattened out so the heart is directly in the center.
