Summer! I love it! All the bright colours and the warmer climate! A perfect excuse to get your needles out and whip up something fun! That is the inspiration behind this pattern. A simple-to-whip-up project for those bright coloured variegated yarns you’ve stashed away for a sunny day! Simple yes, boring no!

Somerset Yarns “Enchanting Unicorn” Sock yarn was where this pattern began and so is reflected in its name. This pattern has been produced to show off the beauty of hand dyed yarns like this.

This is a top/cuff down shortie sock and I have tried to feature the pattern in different yarns to show off its versatility to different colours and tastes.

I tend to opt for DPN’s when knitting socks but I have written this pattern to be universal to every needle preference for knitting in the round. (recommended needle size 2.75mm/ US Size 2)

This pattern doesn’t tend to take any more than 50g of the recommended type of yarn, however this all depends on your gauge.
