Endless Ladder
Looking for something a little different to make? A new take on some old techniques? Try out this crescent-shaped shawl that is built on crocheted stacked stitches!
Charts and photo tutorials are included. It helps if you are familiar with Tunisian crochet stitches, but I hope not necessary.
I would rate this as an Intermediate pattern. Once you learn it, tho, it makes for some pretty relaxin’ stitchin’. Not nearly as complicated and focus-intensive as the Discrete Geometry!
Size is adjustable by varying yarn/hook size and by working fewer/more rows. Sample made is with @1200 yds of Aran weight yarn and J/6.0mm hook. It measures 53” wide and 24” deep. I used the equivalent of one skein of Red Heart Super Saver and two skeins of True Style Wolle “Emma”
Gauge: With Aran yarn and J/6.0mm hook working stacks of 5 hdc high in pattern for 2 rows = 7” wide and 3.5” deep.
There are several ways to get the color changes—you can use a new yarn for each row (great use of scraps!), you can
work between two different skeins of yarns, you can use self-striping, ombre, or gradient yarns.
You’ll be learning two new stitches for this technique: Zipper Stitch and Purl Zipper Stitch.
If you want a sneak-peek at the Zipper Stitch, you can look at this project page here Crocheted Stacked Stitches; flat; from foundation Note: this is not exactly as how it is worked in this pattern, but it will give you the basic idea
