This hat is worked seamlessly from the brim up. It grows with the wearer and thanks to the ribbing, it is expandable and very flexible, could be knitted in meditative pace, any where (during commuting,out door trip), and the top is shaped by decreasing alternatively 2 or/and 3 stitches together.
TECHNIQUES USED: Working with DPNs, working small circumferences in the round, Long-tail caston, rigging 1x1, decreasing 2 and 3 sts.

Circular Needles:
Size A for main patt One 16” 40 cm 9” 23 cm, circular needle (circ) size US 4 3.5 mm, one set double-pointed needles (dpns) or a circ with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting for crown.
Size B for Brim One 16” 40 cm circ size US 3 3.25 mm.

Notions: 8 (9, 10, 11) stitch markers (with 1 being different for BOR), tapestry needle

Gauge in pattern: Gauge and needle size are suggestions only. Individual knitting style and yarn characteristics affect the knit, so adjust needle size to get preferred results.
26 sts and 30 rnds = 4” 10 cm in 1x1 ribbing with main needles A, slightly blocked measured over relaxed fabric, do not stretch. 30 sts and 35 rnds = 4” 10 cm in 1x1 ribbing with main needles B, slightly blocked measured over relaxed fabric, do not stretch.

Yarn:
Phildar phil’douce 3½ (75% acrylic, 20%kid mohair, 5% wool 186yds 170m per 50g skein); Sample uses colour black and pink.
Alternative yarn any combination of (lace + fingering) = DK weight yarn: (qing fibre merino single colour Arizona + The Uncommon Thread – Heavenly Lace)

Yardage: Approx 150 (170, 210, 240) m of DK weight yarn.
