The English Garden Socks were inspired by the lattice texture of the stitch, and the wonderful colours of the Sassy Strings Yarn! These may be the comfiest socks I’ve ever worn - super stretchy, and super cozy, these will be your new go-to reading socks.

This pattern would be great for first-time sock knitters. If you can work in the round, knit, purl, increase, decrease, and pick up stitches, you can do this! The pattern is worked cuff down, with a heel flap and gusset.

DETAILS:

Skill Level: Easy - Intermediate (this is an easy sock, but would require some knitting proficiency.)

Skills required: Knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing, slipped stitches, picking up stitches, kitchener stitch, double pointed needles or magic loop.

Requires: approximately 100 - 200g of DK or light worsted weight yarn (1-2 skeins). One skein of DK weight yarn should make a crew length sock (sample pictured) or shortie, however the variations between length and width of individual feet will cause variations in amount of yarn used.

The pattern can be easily adapted into a mid-calf or longer sock buy adjusting the number of pattern repeats you do. For longer socks, I recommend having an extra skein, or contrast heels and toes.

Sample uses: Sassy Strings Yarn Studio in Spring Blooms. Many thanks to Tracey for providing yarn support for this pattern!

Like any of my patterns, you can use any DK or light worsted weight yarn that fits your style and budget! Need help finding a suitable yarn? Check out my Tips and Tricks for yarn substitution!

This pattern contains three sizes. Finished socks will fit most teen - adult feet. These are particularly stretchy socks, however if you wish to adjust the width of the calf, there are tips included in the pattern!
Please message me if I can help with your modifications.
