English Rib Handwarmers
You’ll begin by knitting in English Rib, from beginning to end. It’s a four stitch pattern that will make up the entire body of the handwarmer. You’ll create an attractive, stretchy fabric that hugs your hand!
A thumb gusset is worked , and you’ll finish the thumb in K1P1 rib.
Sizes include Child Age 3-6, Child Age 7-10, Age 11 to Adult Female, and Adult Male. However, it is very easy to adjust length by knitting more or less rounds. Adjust circumference by adding or subtracting a multiple of 4 to the round.
Gauge in Child Sizes =2” (5 cm) = 12 sts, 14 rounds in English Rib pattern stitch, after blocking, using Size 6 (4mm) needles.
Gauge in Adult Sizes = 2” (5 cm) = 10 sts, 15 rounds in English Rib pattern stitch, after blocking, using Size 7 (4.5 mm) needles.
Supplies needed include stitch markers, a stitch holder, and yarn needle.
You can complete the Child Sizes and Female Size by using one skein of Quince and Co. Lark (134 yds, 50g). You’ll need two skeins to complete the Adult Male Size. Colorways shown in pattern are Egret, Clay, Honey and Sage.
