English Rib Hooded Scarf
Description:
This Hooded Scarf is crocheted using two types of pattern stitches. The Hood section is worked in a rib stitch resembling the look of a knitted English Rib. The Scarf section is worked in a Slip Stitch Rib. Both pattern stitches produce a fabric which has more stretch than the typical crocheted rib stitches.
Materials:
About 728 yds of 4 ply (typically 2 skeins) worsted weight yarn
Size #J aluminum crochet hook
Finished Measurements:
Width of Hood section (folded) = about 10 inches
Length of Scarf section (from bottom of Hood to end of Scarf) = about 27 inches
Gauge:
Based upon the English Rib Stitch pattern:
6 Stitches = 2 inches
8 Rows (based on a combination of the Right & Wrong side of the stitch) = 1 inch
