I just spent a few weeks in England – England during the summer can be stormy and dark, overcast and blustery, or bright and shiny with greens everywhere. I designed (and knit) this shawlette while I was there as a souvenir of my trip.

This shawlette is much easier than it looks: the two-color striping is done with garter stitch and by increasing and decreasing, you’ll have a bias striped fabric that gives a slight curve to the triangle shaping and allows the fabric to drape beautifully. The edging, done in a contrast color, adds a bit of “pop” and is an easy ending to this fun shawlette.

Directions are written out (no charts) for this shawl knit flat with the edging knit on after you finish the body of the shawl … no sewing!

NOTE: yarn needs are: 220 yards fingering-weight of two contrast colors and 110 yards of complementary yarn!

ENJOY!
