Enterlac Hat & Wrist Warmer Set
I like using a yarn that is self stripping because when you work the Enterlac portion you work around doing the triangles first, then around doing the rectangles and finish off with a round of triangles.
This Enterlac Hat and Wrist Warmers are knitted in short rows once the beginning rounds are finished. After you finish your first hat it gets easier. The pattern is worked in 5 stitch short rows so to make it bigger add stitches in groups of 5 and to make it smaller reduce stitches in groups of 5. It is not crucial that the gauge is exact. It’s a hat and it should be stretchy. A stitch marker can be used to keep track of each round to start and after the Enterlac section. Most skeins of yarn will make a hat and a pair of Wrist Warmers. Out of the Plymouth Encore I can make one hat and a pair of wrist warmers to match in the smaller size. You may need an additional ball for the larger sizes.
NOTE: I found a better way to blend the bottom Entrelac section to the top. I made a YouTube video called “Entrelac Hat how to by stitch niche”. It was designed as a reference video, the stitch count and rows may not be the same as the pattern. It looks a lot nicer. Also if you use a size 7 needle for the Entrelac portion and the 8 on the top portion on the hat, it looks more even. And use a size 6 and 7 circular needles for the Wrist Warmers.
I also carry all the yarns listed, if you are interested in yarn please contact me. Or check out my new on-line store, ViolasEmporium.com
