“This capelet originally started as a pair of leg warmers. I bought two skeins of rainbow coloured Noro Iro to make a pair of leggings that would peep out from under my jeans like Hattie McDaniel’s red crinolines in Gone with the Wind. The yarn was tres cher and, like so many of it’s companions in so many stashes, it sat & waited until it’s next incarnation was realized.

When ponchos hit it big 2 summers ago, I wanted one with a little less coverage and a little more somethin’. Shortly thereafter, I opened my own knitting store and started teaching new knitters. Low and behold, it was also the perfect second project for beginners looking to move beyond the scarf.
