Sometimes the yarn comes first, and this was one of those times. I also had a couple of twisting, intertwined lace stitch patterns, as well as a traditional Shetland pattern, in mind. This design actually came together with both yarn and these patterns in mind. Stitch definition was going to be important, particularly as I was planning to use a fingering weight yarn with a lace knit design. This yarn was the perfect choice, given the degree of twist. There were two semi-solid colorways that I especially liked, so I decided to use both.
