Eos Bornea
Twisted travelling stitches wind round and round these fingerless mitts. You can wear them on the opposite hands for a different, asymmetrical look.
This pattern is fully charted. (Sorry, no fully written instructions available because it would take way too many pages.)
Difficulty
Advanced. Techniques include travelling twisted stitches and afterthought thumb. Chart reading required.
Size
Size is adjusted by using different yarn weights and needle sizes.
Small
Fits hand approx. 17 cm (6.75 in) in circumference around the knuckles, excluding thumb.
Fingering weight yarn with 2.5mm (US size 1.5) needles.
Gauge: 36 sts and 40 rounds to 10 square cm.
Metrage/Yardage: 140m/153 yards
Medium
Fits hand approx. 19cm (7.5 in) in circumference.
Sport weight yarn with 2.75mm (US size 2) needles
Gauge: 33 sts and 38 rounds to 10 square cm
Metrage/Yardage: 170m/186 yards
Large
Fits hand approx 21cm (8.25 in) in circumference.
Sport weight with 3mm (US size 2.5) needles.
Gauge: 30 sts and 36 rows to 10 square cm.
Metrage/Yardage: 190m/207 yards
Yarn recommendations:
Stretchy fibres such as wool or acrylic recommended. Yarn should have good stitch definition. Solid or semi-solid colours recommended.
The sample is knitted in King Cole Merino Blend 4ply which has been overdyed to give it a darker tint.

Equipment
Double-pointed knitting needles in the recommended size (see above). For magic loop, use a circular needle of at least 80 cm/32 in length.
Extra set of double-pointed needles in 1 size larger for the thumb.
Stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round.
Scrap yarn in contrasting colour.
