Leaves are both beautiful and important to our ecosystem, so I find myself drawn to them when designing. Reading about gods and goddesses of leaves and trees taught me that Epimeliades are apple tree nymphs dedicated to tending sheep. It’s time for a shawl in their honour.

Epimeliad is a crescent-shaped shawl. It requires 550 meters of fingering weight yarn. Use needle size that gives you a nice lacy effect, I recommend having a stitchmarker if you are following the written instructions. The shawl can be enlarged by adding additional repeats.

Green shawl used almost all of 1 skein Wollmeise Pure in Es grünt so grün 100% wool, 575 yd/526 m per 150g on 3.5 mm (US 4) needles. Blocked size is 166 x 57 cm (65 x 22.5 inches). Gauge is 17 stitches and 24 rows per 10 cm in Epimeliad pattern.
