Equinox Tee
Textured, flowy, and versatile, this box tee is the perfect transitional garment for early autumn days. Its simple silhouette, paired with a mix of dense textured panels and eyelet lace, make for a top that is easy to create with big design payoff. This novice level pattern is written tutorial style, meaning it can be made in any size required, using any yarn and hook size. While a DK weight yarn is highly recommended for this project, Equinox will work up beautifully using sport, fingering, or even light worsted weight yarns. It is strongly suggested that a larger hook size than what is recommended on your yarn label is used to complete this project, this will allow for maximum drape and flowiness.
Equinox is constructed in two halves- a right and left side. Each half is constructed identically, starting at the sleeve, and working in turned rounds until it reaches the shoulder. A side seam is created, and the piece is worked in turned rows until the front and back are the desired width, with increases periodically worked along both sides of the work to create a curved hemline. The neckline is created by working the front and back sides separately, then the two halves of the top are seamed together at the centre front and back. The neckline is then finished off with a simple edging.
