Erbe Vest was inspired by North Bay Fiber, Heritage, a beautiful, woolen spun yarn that creates light yet warm garments. When I felt it, I immediately knew I wanted a vest to keep me warm on those sunny but still chilly days.

Erbe Vest is worked top-down and has a loose funnel neck. The construction starts by working in the round and includes short rows to raise the back of the neck. Raglan style shaping is added, then the side stitches are bound off at the shoulders. The front and back are worked flat, then increases are added to join under the arms. The body is worked in the round to the waist, then the front and back are separated again and worked flat to create the split hem. The fabric uses a broken rib stitch with stockinette stitch panels on the shoulders and down the sides.
