Den Namen hat die Tunika wegen der Farbkombination des Garns, die an Erdbeeren mit Sahne erinnert. Durch den legeren Schnitt, das Lochmuster und das durch etwas dickere Nadeln locker gestrickte Gewebe ist die Tunika ein idealer Begleiter im Sommer.
Sie wird von oben nach unten ganz ohne Nähte mit Kugelärmeln nach einer Variation der Contiguous-Methode von Susie Myers gestrickt und hat eine Länge von ca. 70 cm.

Die Farbstreifen kommen so aus dem Knäuel, wenn man ein Schnee Ei von Drachenstein verwendet. Wer ein anderes Garn verwenden möchte, findet Hinweise, welche Runden in welcher Farbe gestrickt wurden.

Für die Größe 44/46 werden ca. 1100m eines Farbverlaufsgarn benötigt. Die Anleitung enthält zusätzliche Größentabellen mit Reihen-, Maschen- und Garnverbrauchsangaben für die Schulterbreiten 30-50 cm sowie Brustumfang 80-150 cm.

Die Tunika wird recht locker mit Nadelstärke 4 gestrickt. Für die Ärmelbündchen wird eine kurze Rundstricknadel der Stärke 3,5 benötigt, für den Halsausschnitt eine Rundstricknadel der Stärke 3.

Die Anleitung enthält Strickschriften zum Lochmuster und zum Bündchenmuster, Schemazeichnungen der Schulterzunahmen und des Gesamtschnitts sowie schriftliche Beschreibungen.
Zusätzlich gibt es eine ausführliche allgemeine Beschreibung der Contiguous-Methode mit vielen Bildern und Größentabellen zum Umrechnen der Maße.

The name means „strawberries and cream“ and has been chosen because of the colors of the yarn. The pullover is perfect for summer because of the colors, the lace pattern and the loose knit created by using a slightly bigger needle size than usual.
It is worked seamlessly top-down in one-piece. Its shape is achieved by using a variation of the Contiguous method by Susie Myers.
Length of the pullover: ca. 27.5‘‘ (70 cm).

When you are working with a so called “Schnee Ei” by Drachenstein (a special yarn cake), the color effect is achieved without any effort. In the pattern you will find details which colors to use in which rounds to create a similar effect with another yarn.

Yardage (for bust 42.5”): ca. 1200 yards (1100 m) of a gradient yarn of fingering weight

The pattern contains further information (number of rows and sts, estimated yardage) for additional sizes:
Shoulder length 11.8”-19.7” (30 - 50 cm)
Bust: 31.5” - 59” (80 - 150 cm).

The pullover is knitted with a circular knitting needle of size US 6 (4mm). For the sleeves, use a short circular knitting needle of size US 4 (3.5mm), and for the collar size US 2.5 (3mm).

The pattern consists of written instructions, two charts explaining the used lace patterns and two schematics to explain the shoulder shaping and the measures of the garment.
In addition, you find a very detailed description of the Contiguous method with pictures and tables of row / stitch numbers and yardage for different sizes.
