This lovely infinity scarf is knit in reverse stockinette. The lace pattern is reminiscent of the echoing mountains. The bold lines of the decreases give the illusion of tree trunks and branches. It is a very nice contrast to the softness of the lace. I chose to use a hand spun, hand dyed super-wash wool yarn.

This is a very light and airy lace infinity scarf. It can be worn many ways. It can be worn straight down, like a traditional scarf.
It will wrap comfortably around the neck twice and may be worn as a cowl.
Or it can be wrapped around the neck twice, and then a single layer brought up over the head, like a snood of sorts. This is a very pretty look. Very feminine.

Finished Size: 10 1/2” wide (not including the peaks of the lace on each side) 50” in diameter (blocked)

Materials Needed:
250-300 yds. of a dk weight yarn (15 wpi)

Needles: US 8 (5.0 mm) circulars 32”
Stitch Markers

Gauge (unblocked in pattern): 5 sts/ 6 rows per inch. (Swatch measured 5” x 4.75”)

Gauge (blocked in pattern): 4 sts/ 5 rows per inch (swatch measured 6” x 6” blocked)

A note about the yarn used for the scarf pictured:
I started off with 297 yards of a handspun super-wash wool yarn. The swatch took 17 yards to knit. The scarf took 250 yards to knit. I had 30 yards left.

While a handspun yarn was used for the scarf pictured, it would look very pretty in a commercial yarn.
