Please meet Eric the lifeguard Bear!
If you are using the materials, I am suggesting the final size of the bear is going to be approximately 20 cm (8”) from ear to toe and 16 cm (6,4”) when seated.
Yarn and Equipment
1. Yarn Alize Cotton Gold, cotton (55%), acrylic (45%), 330 m - 100 g. Weight: Sport (5 ply)
- Color mustard (02). Used for the head, body, arms and legs - approximately 20g of the yarn.
- Color dark brown (493). Used for the nose. Small amount of the yarn.
- Color dark blue (203) Used for the bridges and stripes on the beret - approximately 10g. YarnArt Jeans Fibers: cotton (55%), acrylic (45%). Footage: 174 yards (159 meters) - 50g. Weight: Sport (5ply) of five colors is used:
- color white (62) used for the stripes on the body, the beret and for applique on breeches. Small amount of the yarn;
- color off white (01) used for the sole and muzzle. Small amount of the yarn;
- color red (26) used for the stripes on the body, sleeves and for applique on breeches. Small amount of the yarn.
- Some black cotton for embroidering the mouth and eyebrows. I used YarnArt Jeans color black (63).
- Pair of eyes for toys or two halfbeads Ø 5 mm.
- 2 buttons Ø 15 mm (0,6 inch) to attach the legs.
- 2 small buttons Ø 10 mm (0,4 inch) for the bridges and one small white button Ø 5-6 mm for the applique.
- Crochet hook: 2 mm (B/1- US, 14- UK), 2,5 mm (C/2 – US, 12 - UK).
- Chopstick (or any other wooden stick with a blunt end) – for the stuffing of the toy.
- Washable polyester filling for the stuffing of the toy.
- Yarn needle – a long needle for assembling of the toy.
