A few months ago, my friend Erin showed me a really great cabled cowl/shrug she had bought from a local shop. I loved it so much that I decided to recreate it my own way from the photo she had taken of it. This is the result of that endeavor, and it’s great on a cool day.

I made my cowl with the intention of only wearing it as one big loop. I made another version of this in cotton that is not as wide, and it can loop around twice. If you use wool and want to be able to wrap it around your neck twice, you can do a few less pattern repeats, and/or add the appropriate amount of stitches to your cast on.
