The Erna Headband a double layered headband, that’s knit in 2x2 broken rib stitch. It’s knit as a tube in the round and is sewn together to a twist at the end.
Having two layers makes it a great accessory for cold and windy days. A favourite piece, that might also be a great gift for someone!

Size:
To ensure a proper fitting headband, please measure your head circumference beforehand. Details on calculation in the pattern.

Gauge: (blocked)
22sts x 36 rows = 10x10cm/4x4” with two strands, worked flat in 2x2 broken rib stitch on 3.5mm (US 4) knitting needles

Pattern for the swatch (2x2 broken rib stitch):
Row 1: Knit all stitches.
Row 2: K2, P2 repeat until the end of the row.
Repeat Row 1 and 2 until you’ve reached the stated/needed length.

Needed:
• «Arwetta Classic» by Filcolana
• 3.5mm (US 4) knitting needles
• Tapestry needle, to weave in ends
• Measuring tape, to measure your head circumference

Recommended yarn:
2 strands of ‘Arwetta Classic’ by Filcolana
50-gram ball = 210 metres (229 yards)

Needed yarn for this project:
Approx. 75g or 315m (345 yards) of «Arwetta Classic» by Filcolana
The sample headband was knit for a head circumference of 56.5cm/22.2”. The headband was knit to a length of 47.5cm/18.7” and used around 315m/345 yards of the mentioned yarn.
If you have a smaller head circumference you will need slightly less yarn, if you have a bigger head circumference you will need slightly more yarn.
