Escama
Escama takes several lace patterns and cobbles them together to create a unique and stylish summer dress. A scallop pattern on the bottom hem is paired with a scale pattern on the body of the dress that creates a natural twist and undulating waves on the fabric. The lattice back resembling a net contrasts the front’s plain stockinette.
The construction begins in the round and then is split at the bodice, then worked flat. The shoulder straps, made with i-cord, are adjustable so the baby won’t immediately grow out of this dress, meaning it can be kept in rotation for months longer than normal. The dress can be worn alone or paired with a onesie or any kind of shirt for a warmer outfit.
Example is shown in 0-3 months size. Each section includes written instructions and charts.
