Escape Cowl
Welcome to the Escape Cowl.
Thank you so much for the compliment of looking at my pattern. I do hope I can persuade you to cast on :)
This design has been swimming around in my head for so long that I swear I could knit it in my sleep. Ever since childhood I have had a love of mazes so add that with my grown-up love of geometric patterns and engineering and it was only a matter of time before something with clean, lovely lines came tumbling off the needles.
This is knit in the round from the bottom up, starting with a small ribbing section followed by an easily flowing pattern that is essentially just seven different rows of knits and purls, finished off with another small rib section.
There are handy progress check boxes at the end of each row so you can keep a visual track of where you are.
I can’t wait to see your fabulous knits. Start a project page and allow me to vicariously live through your knits..
If you like the look of this pattern it would be a huge help to me if you would give it a like, as I have an overflowing notebook of ideas and this helps me understand what to work on next. Your support of my little dream is so appreciated. Every ‘like’ helps and it’s a known fact I do a tiny happy dance each time I get a notification. I am a terrible dancer!
NOTE ADDED Oct 16th :
Have been asked about the multi coloured version I made and the quantity of yarns used. Thought this might be useful info for others.
I used a mini skein set (from Tu Meke yarns) but you could just as easily use up scraps that work well together.
I used 6 x 15g (34 metres approx.) Total row count including rib sections is 84 so I changed colour every 14 rows). Obviously you could use less colours, just make sure your total weight is about 90g (204 metres approx).
