Escapism Shawl
This is a textured, stripy design which uses three different colours / styles of yarn which are worked in sequence, but appear in a balanced way across the pattern, each yarn appearing as one of three different sections of stitches. It was designed to be loud and proud, using a mixture of plain, speckled and variegated yarns, but you can work it in plain colours or with a more subtle colour palette - it is entirely up to you. Try to pick three yarns of similar colour intensity for the best effect.
The stitches for the main section of the yarn are easy to apply. The slightly trickier border has a simpler alternative if you find the pattern of crossed stitches hard to work with. However, they are simply treble stitches and so it is the placement of them which is the challenge. Because of this I have supplied photos to show you how the triangular border is constructed.
I hope you like it!
